PROJECT AIM
Forced marriages are situations where one or both parties are persuaded under intense pressure and violence or by force. One of the most basic human rights is not to marry and / or marry to someone desired is the natural extension of the right to marry. It is important to educate individuals, society and to make legal arrangements to prevent forced marriages. Forced marriages should not be tolerated in any way. In line with this aim, this project is funded by the Canadian Local Initiatives Fund of the Embassy of Canada in Ankara. The project is being implemented by Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Crime and Violence Practice and Research Center (ASUMA) and is carried out with the cooperation of İMDAT – Violence Prevention and Rehabilitation Association.
